How Do We Find Leaks Without Wall Damage?
In the past, plumbers had to break walls or floor tiles randomly based on guesswork to locate a pipe burst. Today, we utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to pinpoint the exact location of the leak within a centimeter:
Thermal cameras detect temperature differentials behind walls and under floors. Leaking water creates temperature anomalies shown as hot or cold spots on the digital screen. This is highly effective for hot water pipes and underfloor heating systems.
Highly sensitive electro-acoustic ground microphones allow us to listen to the sound of water escaping from pressurized pipes beneath concrete, tile, or soil, pinpointing the leak source precisely.
For large areas or outdoor pipes, we drain the line and inflate it with a safe, non-toxic tracer gas (nitrogen and hydrogen). The gas escapes at the leak point and rises to the surface, where sensitive gas detectors locate it.
